2022 Delegation Travels to Japan

CPP's National Model UN Program

CPP’s National Model UN delegation will be formed in the fall and will consist of eighteen students. The delegation will meet once the semester starts during our Tuesday/Thursday classes in person. During the first meeting, the team will discover which member state they will be representing in New York. Delegates will also receive committee assignments in line with the committee that they will be representing. Class will meet weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evenings beginning week 1 of the spring semester. Prior to the New York National Model United Nations Conference, the team will attend a regional conference, which typically takes place in March. Members of this team will receive a letter grade for this program. Grading will be based on how well they prepare in class and how well you perform in conference.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join the Model UN team?

First, submit an application through Google Forms, which is currently open on the application page. Second, applicants may be contacted for an interview. Following interviews, those that have been selected to be on the team will be contacted with information regarding officially joining the program.

What is “class” like?

Each delegate will be given a permission number to enroll in the official Model UN course for the spring semester. Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 pm-7 pm. However, we often stay much later to ensure we will be prepared for conference and maintain our legacy of being an award-winning team. In class, time is divided between researching, learning procedural skills, and strategies to best be prepared for conference.

What financial obligations will I have?

CPP’s NMUN program is very fortunate to receive financial support from multiple sources. Conference fees are covered for each delegate. Assuming that the conditions of the pandemic permit the team to go to New York, airfare and hotel costs are covered for each delegate. Additionally, tourist activities, food, and transportation will be out-of-pocket costs. Be aware that meals are not provided by the NMUN Conference, however, the university may be able to offset certain costs, according to your financial situation.

What are the travel/conference dates?
